It’s been a great run, but I’ve given it enough time, and it has finally come time to move onto my own domain.

Thanks for all the tumbl-luv & support over the past year, & here’s to a great 2012.
Thankful for my friends, and their friends, and theirs.
These are some tunes that I’ve been listening to, all of which I’ve discovered through either friends, or Star Slinger himself (the man’s prolific). Big ups to Rhinoceropolis for hosting Pictureplane, and for those beats making it back to me in Boulder; to Enigma for the liquid bass love; to Mikey Maramag for posting the dopest tunes; & to all my friends who provide endless inspiration to keep pursuing art & music.
Enigma, one of the great masters of liquid bass, takes ‘Memoirs’ to new dreamy depths. No release details on this one, but be sure to steam it & love it below:
Blizzards and white-outs don’t mean the end of festival season. From the snow-topped mountains to tropical private islands, music festivals are popping off all around the nation. Together as One in Los Angeles boasts a stellar line-up, as usual: Duck Sauce, Diplo, Bloody Beetroots & more. For music mixed with snow sports, head to the hills. Snow Globe in Lake Tahoe boasts mostly California-and-Colorado based beatsmiths: California’s Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, & Glitch Mob; and Colorado’s Pretty Lights, Paper Diamond, Robotic Pirate Monkey, & Sorry for Partying. Snow Ball in Vail is sure to be an earth-shattering bass music extravaganza (think Adventure Club, & Minnesota). For something totally novel, check out Holy Ship!, a rave on a cruise ship featuring Boys Noize, Rusko, Skrillex and more. For those with flowers in their hair, Noise Pop in San Francisco meddles in glo-fi dreaminess (think Blackbird Blackbird, & Grimes). To fast-track into summer, there’s no hotter city than Miami to hit a dance music festival (their teaser video alludes to Skrillex).
Together as One Highlights: Duck Sauce, Diplo, Bloody Beetroots Los Angeles, CA December 31, 2011

Escape to Tropical Paradise with Blackbird Blackbird
Blackbird Blackbird released a new single, “Tear,” free today via Soundcloud and Bandcamp. Bordering on surf rock, the new lyricless tune incorporates steel drum, guitar and sleepy vocals. Peaceful, lovely, and upbeat yet relaxed, it’s just what the doctor ordered to snap you out of your winter gloom. Now all we need is a beach chair and a beer. Northern California’s prolific songsmith, Mikey S. Miramag, also released a mixtape for Prefix magazine today. It includes 45 minutes of blissful dreamwave from Blackbird Blackbird, Clams Casino, Atlas Sound, Sun Glitters and others in the same vein. Download the 45-minute ‘Tear’ mixtape here.
